The Trackstick II is a small, yet powerful GPS tracking device. It can track people, vehicles, or personal assets. The device uses Google Earth’s mapping capabilities and connections to 24 satellites to allow you to track just about anything around the globe. The Trackstick II is an advanced GPS tracker, with accuracy within 2.5 meters. It’s only 4 ½ x 1 ¼ x ¾ inches in size but can retain months worth of information (on power save mode) with its 1 MB flash memory using two AAA batteries.
The Trackstick II provides valuable information such as: the speed and position of the target, route taken, duration of stops, time of travel, and arrival address. All of this data can be made available by merely plugging in the USB enabled Trackstick into a computer’s USB port. This is the prime function of a passive tracker: information is provided after the fact, so it’s cheaper than paying a monthly fee for constant updates. While this may not be ideal for a high profile criminal tracking assignment, it can most certainly work for just about everyone else.
The information is displayed via satellite image and maps using Google Earth software. The targeted path is highlighted in red for an optimal viewing perspective. There is even a new concept called geo-tagging which is the process of adding new information, or metadata, to a photos’ EXIF data. This data is the core of an image file, and you can add things like what kind of camera is being used, the latitude and longitude coordinates of the image, and pertinent city and state details for the location of where the data was taken from.
The Trackstick II comes with a detachable belt clip for convenience and a weatherproof case that allows maximum durability. With all of these technological features and outer protection, it’s clear that the Trackstick II was built to last. For one low fee this device can be yours forever.
